Pioneer was formed in 1938 as Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho and incorporated with Fukuin Denki in 1947. The company was renamed Pioneer Electronic Corporation in 1961 and the company was floated on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. By 1969 the company was truly international, with Business Centres in the USA and Switzerland, and was listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

Pioneer was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1976 and from there the company has cemented itself as a cornerstone of the car audio world establishing a regional subsidiary, Pioneer Electronics AsiaCentre Pte. Ltd, in Southeast Asia.

Pioneer’s product history began in 1937 with Pioneer’s founder, Nozomu Matsumoto, developing the A-8 dynamic speaker. Going forward to 1953, Pioneer developed its first Hi-Fi Speaker.

Pioneer’s receiver range is impressive, with a choice of 10 multimedia options from 6.2″ to 9″ displays that incorporate Apple Car Play, Android compatibility, Bluetooth, USB and 3.5mm line in options. You can make a choice of HUB that is reverse camera ready, DVD compatible and GPS enabled.

Pioneer has 2, 3, and 4-way speakers, oval speakers, and enclosed speakers. There is a product for every sound requirement from an individual tweeter to a 4-piece speaker system, component options and coaxial options.

Of course, subwoofers are available with a range of price points to suit any budget and power outputs of up to 2000 watts (600w nominal) and shallow mount versions. Pioneer offers subwoofer drivers separately or fully enclosed, wedged or boxed and preloaded, or with built in amplifiers.

Pioneer amplifiers are as available as 2 or 4 channel units, with up to 1000 watts output and variable high pass filter for smaller speakers
